CERN particle accelerators are huge machines

This picture illustrates the size and exact location of CERN's biggest particle accelerators, the LEP, Large Electron-Positron collider and the SPS, Super Proton Synchrotron. The red and white circles have been added on top of the pictures to indicate where the tunnels housing these huge machines pass deep into the ground of the Geneva - Pays de Gex area.
