Programs
The Administration of Justice program at HCC prepares students for entry into the Administration of Justice field, including law enforcement, court corrections and private security. Students completing the program will earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. A student at HCC who completed 12 units of AJ work, may receive up to 12 additional units for completing basic recruit training for police as required by government law enforcement agencies.
The Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies program is designed to prepare students for immediate employment as architectural or engineering drawing technicians. Some students, however, also use the program to prepare for employment in building construction, interior design drawing, construction supervision, and various other fields. Still other students use the program as a step on the way to a bachelor's or doctorate degree in architecture or engineering.
The Fire and Environmental Emergency Response program at HCC prepares students for entry into employment in the Fire Service field as well as meeting the needs of the in-service professionals. Emphasis is placed on four basic areas of fire safety: Prevention and Inspection, Fire Control, Rescue and Emergency Medical, and Management and Administration. Students completing the program can earn Certificate of Achievement or an Associate of Applied Science degree.
The Occupational and Environmental Safety Management program at HCC provides training for students to function as paraprofessionals or technicians in the occupational and environmental safety and health field. The curriculum offers a broad background on safety and health program administration, workplace hazard recognition/evaluation/control, workers' compensation principles, hazardous chemical risk assessment, and environmental management. Students completing the program can earn a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate of Science degree.
