Lena Low


 
Lena Low comes from a global family; she has relatives in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Canada, England, the United States, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.  She was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and educated at Mucurapo Girls School and St. Joseph's Convent in Port of Spain, Trinidad. In 1970, she graduated from Kalani High School in Honolulu, Hawaii and by 1974 completed two bachelors degrees (one in Economics; the other in Political Science) at Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.  In 1978, she received a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  She has served in a number of faculty leadership positions including Faculty Senate Chair and Division Co-Chair.  In 1991, she traveled to Indonesia as a Fulbright recipient.  Additionally, she has visited and studied the economic development of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Honolulu Community College offers most of the lower division courses required for the first two years of the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa (U.H.M.) and at other Hawaii and Mainland universities/colleges.
