Aloha and welcome to my website!
Here you can learn more about me and the classes I teach. You can also learn about the English as a Second Language program here at HCC that I coordinate.
What is the English as a Second Language program?
The key to being successful in college is a student's language proficiency. The better students read, write, speak, and listen, the more successful they will be. ESL students already know at least one language and sometimes more. Their task is to improve their abilities in English, and ESL courses allow students to develop their English skills to compete successfully with native English-speaking counterparts. For non-native speakers of English, Language Arts offers a comprehensive ESL program that includes credit and non-credit courses and an intensive sixteen-week program. Students who successfully complete the second level of credit courses or the intensive program can take ENG 22 or 60.
The following is a chart showing the order in which the classes are taken.
If you want more information about the specific ESL classes that I am teaching, please follow the links (at the top or on the left) to the classes that you are interested in.
